About the Theater
PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization fully run by volunteers. PowPAC is a proud member of AACT, ACT-SD, San Diego Performing Arts League, and the Poway Chamber of Commerce. PowPAC welcomes and encourages volunteers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities to be a part of our organization.
Location and Parking
PowPAC Theater is located at 13250 Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064 (Upstairs) – Elevator access in the back of the building.

Audition Info
Open call Monday, Sep 21st & Tuesday, Sep 22nd from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Callbacks by invitation only on Wednesday, Sep 23rd from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (if necessary).
Audition Notes: PowPAC welcomes and encourages actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities to submit for these roles.
- Actors should attend one night of the open call and will be informed of callback invitations on Tuesday, Sep 22nd. It’s not necessary to be there the entire time on open-call nights, but please arrive at least 45 minutes before the end of the evening so we can ensure you’re seen.
- Please bring an acting resume, headshot, calendar for paperwork/schedule comparison; no performance conflicts permitted.
- Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script.

Rehearsal and Performance Info
- First cast meeting & table read will be scheduled based on cast availability, theater rehearsals begin on November 19th, 2026.
- Rehearsals will be scheduled Mondaythrough Thursday evenings 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. There will be no rehearsals Nov. 25 & 26, Dec. 21-26, Dec 31, and Jan 1st.
- Performances: Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Sundays at 2:00 PM from Friday, Jan 15th, 2026 to Sunday, Feb 7th , 2026, including 2:00 PM Saturday matinees on Jan 23rd and Feb 6th.
Synopsis
When overbearing Pauline tries to force a romance between her guarded friend Carla and the cynical Jason, the two rebels team up, putting on a theatrical show of absolute loathing to teach her a lesson.
But behind closed doors, their fake feud sparks a real connection, until Carla’s pretentious ex-husband unexpectedly returns to win her back. What follows is a flurry of comedic misunderstandings and rapid-fire bickering as these two movie-lovers fight to script their own happy ending.

Smart, stylish, and emotionally guarded due to her divorce. Carla finds herself caught between familiar comforts and sudden romantic entanglements. She masks her uncertainty with dry humor and poised confidence. Requires a versatile performer who excels at rapid-fire banter while subtly conveying the underlying tension and vulnerability of a woman at a crossroads.
Pauline Timmons
Age: 30s-50s
Presenting: Female-presenting
Henry’s sharp-witted wife who possesses strong opinions and zero hesitation about sharing them. Pauline brings energetic nosiness and comedic flair to every room she enters. Demands great character acting, strong vocal projection, and impeccable comic delivery to land rapid laughs while keeping her meddling naturally grounded and funny.
Henry Timmons
Age: 30s-50s
Presenting: Male-presenting
Pauline’s long-suffering yet affable husband. Henry often plays the pragmatic, weary foil to his wife’s schemes, armed with deadpan one-liners and practical logic. Needs an actor skilled in understated, dry comedy who can convey decades of comfortable marital familiarity through subtle reactions and effortless comedic timing.
Daniel
Age: 30s-40s
Presenting: Male-presenting
Carla’s ex-husband, whose presence complicates the dynamic with his polished demeanor and shifting priorities. Daniel is impressed with himself, He projects success and charm, but his actions drive key dramatic stakes across the story. Demands a confident stage presence, charismatic delivery, and the nuance to play both attractive self-assurance and subtle domestic strain.
Cindy

An energetic, alluring, and outspoken presence who inadvertently stirs up chaos wherever she goes. Cindy is spirited, candid, and completely unapologetic about what she wants.
