Opposites Attract in “Collective Dating”
A Hilarious Look at the Insecurities and Opportunities of Dating
Save the Date -- March 21st at 7pm
Spend an energetic evening enjoying a look at dating from seven different vignettes. From blind dating and speed dating to internet dating, every perspective in finding your true love is covered. “Collective Dating,” by V.B. Leghorn will be on the PowPAC stage for a one-night performance on Sunday, March 21st at 7pm. The show, directed by Lizzie Mander and produced by Debbie David, will be presented in a reader’s theatre format.
Director Lizzie Mander says we can all remember back to our days of dating, and relive our emotional state from confidence to nervousness. “It’s a look at dating, love, an opportunities. It’s the human elements that make being in a relationship both compelling and memorable. We have all been there. We can all relate to the human condition at its rawest.”
The vignettes include “Speed Dating” as three couples meet for the first time at a conference as love, lust and craziness ensues. “Blind Dating” includes a blind lawyer, golf swings, and match making of a new and exciting kind. “The Drag of Dating” includes four female impersonators helping a friend break off a bad relationship with a psychotic girlfriend. Plus, meet Mr. Romance as he gives a lesson in the elements of seducing members of the opposite sex. And, get the lowdown on finding love online in “Internet Dating,” and seeing a matchmaker.
The cast includes Kaly McKenna, Rachel Bishop, Lizzie Mander, Sven Saluuma, Jim Steinberg, and Joe Solazzo.
Mander says the audience is in for a good time. “It’s a light hearted look at the human condition packed with plenty of fun, making for a great night out at the theatre.”
“Collective Dating,” will be performed on Sunday, March 21 at 7 pm at the PowPAC theatre, located upstairs in the Lively Center at 13250 Poway Road in Poway.
