Cast Requirements:
The play has roles for 9 men of varying ages, and 6 women of varying ages, including one teenager. Some of the roles are for house servants with more action than lines.
Auditions will be conducted at the theater by cold readings from the script.
The characters of Tracy and Dinah must be able to sing and perform simple dance steps. It is recommended that the ladies audition in a dress or skirt and heels so that I can see them move in the attire that will be required in the play.
Headshots and resumes are appreciated, but not required. No appointments are necessary.
Plot Synopsis:
“The Philadelphia Story” will run five weeks from April 23 to May 23. The play by Philip Barry will be directed by Sherrie Colbourn, and produced by Chris and Brenda Robinson. This is the last main stage production for the 2009-2010 PowPAC season.
This Broadway hit starred Katharine Hepburn as Tracy Lord, the self- righteous and spoiled daughter of the privileged Lords of Philadelphia. Miss Hepburn also starred in the movie by the same name with Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. This screwball comedy is about love, marriage and unpredictability of affairs of the heart.
