Plot Synopsis:
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is based on the classic holiday movie with a clever twist thrown in: the story is staged as a live radio broadcast. Five actors portray numerous characters, and sound effects are done live through Foley artists. This classic holiday story is about the life of George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams to help others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody.. Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched, and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be if he had never been born. George comes to have a change of heart and understand the true spirit of the holidays.
The movie of this story has come to be considered one of the best American films ever made. For a detailed breakdown on the story see the Wikipedia article.
The radio play version is an incredible opportunity for several actors who play over 29 different characters in this fast paced, compelling and moving story. It is a fabulous showcase for the actors, offering a chance to bring dazzling skills. Audiences passionately love this story and it is a wonderful experience for the performers and audience alike!
