| At the heart of this insightful and witty play is a dramatically incisive portrait of two married couples - the Trumans and the Haddocks. Uncomfortable with themselves and each other, they are forced to spend a Fourth of July weekend at the Fire Island house that the brother of one of the women left his sister recently when he died. Chloe Haddack is a dancer and singer and also the older sister of Sam Truman, a businessman who lives in New Jersey with his wife Sally. Sally is a painter and owner of the beach house left to her by her brother David. Her husband, John Haddack, is the Head of Admissions at a boys' prep school. These are successful, articulate and very funny people, but also people who rage against their fears and prejudices, their failures and the capricious nature of death. | |||||||||||||
